Hill Country SPCA—Our Past, Our Future
The Hill Country Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, (HCSPCA), is a no kill animal shelter serving the Texas Hill Country since 1997.Because every single animal has value, the HCSPCA is dedicated to:
The FixFürLife program
HCSPCA’s newest program, FixFürLife, will build a better community through responsible pet ownership. This program will provide low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter/vaccination services for owned animals and donation-based services for community cats, better known as Trap, Neuter and Return, (TNR). FixFürLife is a collaborative program serving residents of Fredericksburg and Gillespie County.
FixFürLife’s goal is to make spay/neuter services affordable for everyone, so part of the program is to provide financial assistance to qualifying families. Another goal is to provide at least 1200 spay/neuter surgeries per year. As part of these goals, FixFürLife is planning two free spay days, where low-income families can sign up for free surgeries and very low-cost vaccinations.
FixFürLife is critical to stemming the growing tide of unwanted and discarded dogs and cats in our area. By reducing the animal population and caring for current animals, the program will lead to healthier pets and a healthier community for all.
Spay/Neuter/Vaccination: good for you, good for your pet, good for our community.
